Strategy Bitcoin stash hits $63.46B record
Strategy’s Bitcoin treasury rose to a record $63.46 billion as of April 26, with holdings reaching 815,061 BTC at an average cost of $75,528 per coin.
The value has increased by nearly $2 billion in a week as Bitcoin rallied, reinforcing the firm’s position as the largest publicly disclosed corporate Bitcoin holder.
The latest surge follows a $2.54 billion purchase of 34,164 BTC, marking the company’s biggest single-week acquisition in 17 months.
The buying spree pushed Strategy ahead of BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, leaving it second only to wallets linked to Satoshi Nakamoto in total Bitcoin holdings.
The company’s unrealised gain now stands at roughly $1.9 billion, or 3.08% above its aggregate cost basis, as Bitcoin trades slightly above its average purchase price.
The April accumulation was funded through $2.18 billion in STRF preferred equity and $366 million in share sales, highlighting a capital-intensive approach to expanding its Bitcoin position.
Critics including Peter Schiff have warned that sustaining yields on preferred instruments may require continued Bitcoin strength or further capital raises, raising concerns about potential dilution if market conditions weaken.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $78,340.77.
