Metaplanet calls on the community to sign a petition against Tokyo Stock Price Index's proposal to exclude bitcoin treasury companies.
Foresight News reported that Metaplanet's Bitcoin Strategy Lead, Dylan LeClair, stated at the "Bitcoin 2026" conference that Japan Exchange Group (JPX) is soliciting feedback on a new regulation, which intends to exclude companies with crypto assets accounting for more than 50% of their total assets from the Tokyo Price Index (TOPIX). This directly impacts the inclusion plans for Metaplanet, Remixpoint, ANAP Holdings, and other companies in the October 2026 index. LeClair called on the global community to sign a joint letter on the Bitcoin for Corporations official website, with the public consultation period ending on May 7. He mentioned that Japanese regulation and policy are generally Bitcoin-friendly and expressed an optimistic outlook for the final result.
Previously, U.S. MSCI decided, in the February 2026 index review, not to implement the earlier proposal to remove digital asset treasury (DAT) companies from the MSCI Global Investable Market Index (MSCI Index).
