Report: Prediction market monthly trading volume surpasses 25 billion dollars, retail activity dominates
Foresight News reported that according to a report jointly released by Bitget Wallet and Polymarket, the prediction market trading volume in March surged to 25.7 billion US dollars, an increase of 10.6% compared to February, with most users’ trading volume below 10 thousand US dollars.
The report is based on data from 1.29 million wallets tracked in the first quarter. According to the report, 82.3% of users had trading volumes below 10 thousand US dollars during this period. Growth was mainly concentrated among micro, lightweight, and medium-sized retail users. Meanwhile, as users accessed more frequently and participated in multiple categories of trading, the activity in cryptocurrency, sports, and political markets also increased.
In the first quarter alone, Bitcoin event contracts attracted approximately 593 thousand users with a trading volume of 5.42 billion US dollars, making it the crypto market with the highest number of participants. The Ethereum market ranked second, with a trading volume of 1.19 billion US dollars and 294 thousand users; the Solana market recorded a trading volume of 420 million US dollars with 185 thousand users; and XRP-linked contracts reached a trading volume of 308 million US dollars with 132 thousand users.
