Democratic senators pressure Tether over alleged bribery of the US Secretary of Commerce
Foresight News reports, according to The Block, that Democratic senators Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden are pressuring both parties over Tether's alleged bribery of U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. According to reports, Tether provided an undisclosed loan to a trust fund with Howard Lutnick's children as beneficiaries, and Cantor Fitzgerald, where Howard Lutnick previously served, was also Tether's reserve asset management institution.
Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden also pointed out that the previously passed "Genius Act" has benefited Tether, and Tether had lobbied in support of the bill, which may involve exchanges of money for influence.
