According to CCTV Finance, the latest data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs shows that in April, the national "vegetable basket" product price index was 117.96, down 6.49 points from the previous month and down 2.2 points year-on-year.

Among them, vegetable prices continued their seasonal decline. In April, the national average wholesale price of 28 types of vegetables monitored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was 4.44 yuan per kilogram, down 9.9% month-on-month and 6.1% year-on-year. By variety, prices decreased month-on-month for 26 types and increased for 2, with winter melon and cucumber prices falling by more than 30% month-on-month. Experts noted that the current nationwide area under vegetable cultivation exceeds 9 million mu. As production areas continue to shift northwards, the supply of open-field vegetables in northern regions will gradually increase, with ongoing growth in the supply of solanaceous, gourd, and leafy vegetables, ensuring an abundant overall market supply.
