Golden Ten Data reported on May 5 that data released on Tuesday showed little change in U.S. job openings in March, while hiring activity picked up. According to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday, the number of job openings edged down to 6.87 million, lower than the revised 6.92 million in February. Another report showed that sales of new homes in the U.S. rose in March from the previous month, reflecting that incentives offered by developers successfully attracted buyers to the market. The data showed that sales of newly built single-family homes increased by 7.4% month-on-month, at an annualized rate of 682,000 units. The report also released February sales data for the first time, as the data release had previously been delayed due to the federal government shutdown at the end of last year.
