Corning, a global leader in materials science, has announced a major capacity expansion plan aimed at significantly increasing its domestic optical communications infrastructure manufacturing capabilities in the United States.

According to the latest plan, Corning will increase its optical connectivity solutions production capacity in the United States to ten times the current level. Meanwhile, the company's optical fiber production capacity will also see a significant increase of more than 50%. This strategic investment aims to address the growing demand for high-speed, high-capacity optical communication technologies in data centers, 5G networks, and broadband services. The expanded capacity will strengthen the resilience of the United States supply chain in key communication technology sectors and support the development of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence computing and cloud computing.
