Glonghui, May 7 — U.S. food delivery platform DoorDash (DASH.US) surged 11.3% in after-hours trading, closing at $186.92. According to reports, DoorDash's revenue for the first quarter rose 33% year-on-year to $4.04 billion, below the analyst consensus estimate of $4.15 billion; earnings per share reached $0.42, surpassing the consensus estimate of $0.36. During the same period, total orders increased 27% year-on-year to 933 million, and the platform's total order value rose 37% year-on-year to $31.6 billion, slightly above the analyst expectation of $31.5 billion. DoorDash expects the gross order value for the second quarter to be between $32.4 billion and $33.4 billion, above the analyst consensus estimate of $32.3 billion, demonstrating strong demand for its services in both the U.S. and international consumer markets.
