Spot gold rose 0.4% to $4,697.55 per ounce. According to media reports citing a statement from the United States Central Command, Iran launched missiles, drones, and deployed small boats to attack U.S. warships near the Strait of Hormuz. In response, the U.S. intercepted these threats and struck Iranian military bases responsible for the attacks. Meanwhile, Bas Kooijman, CEO and asset manager of DHF Capital, stated in an email: "Investors will closely monitor the upcoming U.S. employment report for further clues regarding the strength of the U.S. economy and the outlook for Federal Reserve monetary policy."
