They stated that the global macroeconomic environment is increasingly favorable for carry trades, meaning investors borrow low-yield currencies to invest in high-yield currencies. The Bank of England's policy rate of 3.75% remains a significant support for the pound sterling. However, investors may seek higher-yielding G10 alternative currencies such as the Norwegian krone and Australian dollar, while "closely monitoring the pound's risk premium related to fiscal and political outlook as well as the potential increase in UK government bond term premia."
