According to Golden Ten Data on May 12, after Trump expressed his support, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley proposed a bill to suspend the fuel tax. The bill intends to suspend the collection of the gasoline tax of 18.4 cents per gallon and the diesel tax of 24.4 cents per gallon for a period of 90 days. The bill also allows Trump to extend the suspension for another 90 days if he deems it necessary.
