The first batch of refunds for illegal U.S. tariffs will be issued on May 12.

Golden Ten Data reported on May 12 that on May 11 local time, it was learned that U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the first batch of illegal tariff refunds will begin to be issued on May 12, and some U.S. enterprises will receive refund payments. Last month, the U.S. government launched an online application platform allowing companies to apply for a refund of tariffs previously paid that were later ruled illegal by the U.S. Supreme Court. According to U.S. Customs data, more than 330,000 importers have paid a total of approximately $166 billion in related tariffs. As of April 26, at least 75,000 companies had submitted refund applications.
