(2) Hunt discussed several issues triggered by the Iran war, including the shutdown of oil production, damage to refineries, and the practical closure of the Strait of Hormuz—a waterway that once transported about one-fifth of the world’s crude oil. (3) “This is simply the nightmare that everyone least wants to see in their planning,” Hunt said on Wednesday. He rarely comments publicly and currently oversees the 91-year-old Hunt Oil Company, which operates globally, including in Yemen and the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
