Glonghui, May 19 — Both Google and Blackstone Group rose over 1% in pre-market trading. According to reports, Google has reached an agreement with Blackstone Group to jointly establish an artificial intelligence cloud computing company, launching a new TPU cloud service aimed at directly competing in this rapidly growing market against emerging cloud service providers such as CoreWeave Inc. It is reported that Google senior executive Benjamin Treynor Sloss will serve as the CEO of the new company. This personnel arrangement also reflects Google’s determination—with an executive involved in building the company’s core technical architecture personally leading the new business—to ensure a seamless integration of full-stack capabilities from chips to data centers to cloud services.

According to data from the US Department of the Treasury, in the 12 months ending July this year, overseas investors made net purchases of US stocks totaling $942 billion, marking the highest rolling 12-month total since records began in 1985. The net purchases in the second quarter alone reached $426 billion, setting a new single-quarter record. Meanwhile, overseas demand for US Treasuries has noticeably cooled, with purchase volumes falling significantly. As a result, the US is facing higher costs in government debt financing.
