Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger: As AI shifts from training to inference, the CPU to GPU ratio may reach 4:1

Golden Ten Data, May 20｜At the 54th Annual Global Technology, Media and Telecom Conference by JPMorgan, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated that Intel 18A has already supported the mass production of Panther Lake chips, with yields improving by approximately 7% each month, surpassing internal expectations. The 0.5 PDK for Intel 14A has been released, and there are plans to push the 0.9 PDK to external clients in October. The team has also begun long-term planning for the 10A and 7A process nodes. As AI shifts from training to inference, the CPU becomes increasingly important and indispensable in the AI era. The configuration ratio of CPU to GPU is trending from 1:8 toward 1:1, and it could even reach 4:1. Intel is currently actively pursuing ASIC business opportunities, offering customized solutions.
