```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on May 26 that the South Korean government announced it will monitor overseas private debt investments by Korean investors, totaling approximately $37 billion, following recent global risk events in the private debt sector. In a joint statement released Tuesday, South Korea's financial regulators and the Ministry of Finance said the government will "continue to closely monitor Korean investors' risk exposure in consideration of market conditions," and "maintain tight coordination between relevant departments to respond to changes in the situation." According to the statement, as of the end of February, the total risk exposure of South Korea's financial industry to overseas private debt investments was 30.5 trillion won ($20.2 billion), with pension fund-related investments at 25.4 trillion won ($16.8 billion). Earlier reports indicated that the Financial Supervisory Service began examining all sectors under its jurisdiction for overseas private credit risk exposure last month. The South Korean government stated: "Given the scale of overseas private debt investments relative to total assets, the overall investment risk within the financial sector remains at a controllable level."```
