Texas Bitcoin Reserve Program Shifts from ETF to Direct Custody Holdings
Foresight News reported, citing CoinTelegraph, that Texas is seeking a custodian and liquidity service provider to move its $10 million strategic Bitcoin reserve from the BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) spot ETF to directly holding Bitcoin, with the transition to be completed within 60 days after contract signing. On the same day, the Texas State Auditor’s Office announced the establishment of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Advisory Committee. Members include senior investment executive Laurie Dotter, Cormint Data Systems founder Jamie McAvity, Southern Methodist University law professor Carla Reyes, and CleanSpark president and CFO Gary Vecchiarelli, who are responsible for advising on reserve custody arrangements, risk management, and information disclosure.
