According to Citywire, Jalina Kerr, Head of Advisor Experience at Charles Schwab, stated that the company plans to launch cryptocurrency spot trading features for advisors on its custody platform in 2027. Progress is currently going well, with the expected launch date likely to be closer to mid-year. Earlier this year, Charles Schwab has already introduced Bitcoin and Ethereum spot trading for retail clients. Kerr pointed out that digital asset regulation is complex; advisors currently mainly use exchange-traded products to allocate crypto assets, but interest in spot trading is rising. A competing exchange has already provided crypto custody and trading services for wealth management managers.
