He stated at a media conference call on June 2: “This is something we are observing with extreme caution. The impact of El Niño could cause cocoa prices to surge by several thousand (pounds/dollars) per ton.” Currently, London cocoa futures are trading at £2,944 per ton (approximately $3,964.10), down from the peak of over £9,000 per ton in April 2024.
