According to The Block, in May 2026, the number of crypto venture capital deals dropped to around 50, marking the lowest level since before 2021. Both the infrastructure and crypto financial services sectors have declined to multi-year lows, mainly due to investors shifting their focus to the AI sector and a shortage of high-quality early-stage projects. Despite the decrease in deal volume, total funding remains high, characterized by "fewer but larger deals." Prediction market platform Kalshi recently completed a $1 billion funding round, serving as a typical example. Analysts believe that this low-noise environment could provide a window of opportunity for projects with clear use cases and genuine traction.
