The US dollar against the Japanese yen briefly approached its 2024 high before quickly falling back.
Odaily reported that the US dollar briefly rose above 161.90 against the Japanese yen, then quickly dropped to 161.20. However, buyers emerged during this decline, and the exchange rate swiftly rebounded to 161.65. Japanese officials have repeatedly issued warnings, stating they are closely monitoring market movements.
Last Friday, the USD/JPY exchange rate registered the highest weekly closing price in 40 years, and the end of the Iran war does not seem to have brought any relief. Earlier today, the rate surpassed the June high of 161.80, but the intraday high of 161.94 in July 2024 has yet to be broken (although it remains at risk). As the Ministry of Finance faces a test, yen trading is entering an unpredictable period. (Golden Ten Data)
