Golden Ten Data reported on June 24 that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Besent stated that the country's economic national strategy policy will, to some extent, be guided by the principle of ensuring the nation can address vulnerabilities where potential adversaries might cut off supplies of critical materials. In a speech prepared for the New York Economic Club on Tuesday, Besent said, “We will build resilience before crises occur.” He called for a review of supply chains to assess vulnerabilities in key sectors including the military, hospitals, energy systems, and the financial system.
