According to the Chosun Ilbo, 22 Bitcoin kept by the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul during the investigation of a financial hacking case have gone missing, with a value of approximately 2.2 billion KRW. Because the involved Bitcoin was stored in an offline wallet held by the informant, individuals who knew the mnemonic phrase recovered and converted it externally. The police stated that at the time of the incident, there were still no official internal guidelines regarding the custody of seized virtual assets, and no audit or disciplinary procedures were initiated for the personnel responsible for managing evidence.
