Odaily reported that Paradis Labs stated on the X platform that the South Korean humanoid robot supply chain is crucial for the upcoming increase in humanoid robot production.

GS expects that by 2035, 30% of humanoid robot components will come from South Korea, as the experience of South Korea’s automotive industry can be transferred to the production capabilities for humanoid robot parts such as actuators. Actuators essentially simulate human muscles and joints, and currently account for about 50% of the bill of materials for humanoid robots. South Korea has an advantage in actuator production because related technologies are similar to those used in automotive components such as power steering, braking systems, and self-driving car technology.

GS stated that multiple Korean automotive parts manufacturers have leveraged this experience to become key non-Chinese suppliers of major actuators for robots.

Paradis Labs noted that in terms of upstream humanoid robot exposure, South Korea appears set to play a significant role among key non-Chinese humanoid robot suppliers. At the same time, South Korea also holds a critical position in the AI supply chain through the memory businesses of SK hynix and Samsung.
