Ansem responds to "creator tokens" controversy: Misjudged the trust assumption, but will explore "positive crypto attention mechanisms"
Odaily reported that Ansem posted on X, stating that his previous judgment regarding celebrities participating in crypto projects was overly idealistic. He once assumed they would not "rug" millions of supporters, but this assumption has been proven wrong in reality. He said he would not make the same mistake again in the future.
However, Ansem emphasized that he is not a celebrity, nor does he intend to engage in improper project exit behavior. In his view, meme and narrative-based tokens can still play a "net positive effect" role in the crypto market, such as attracting new users to the industry, providing speculative liquidity to the market, and reigniting market sentiment at the bottom of a bear market.
He cited Dogecoin and Bonk as examples, saying that such assets have brought large-scale user inflows and wealth effects during various cycles. Dogecoin's market capitalization once reached 11 billion US dollars, while Bonk revitalized Solana's ecosystem sentiment during the downturn following the FTX collapse.
Ansem also stated that he entered the crypto industry in 2017, quit his software engineering job in 2021, and now co-founded the trading app BullpenFi and runs the podcast project MarketBubble. He mentioned that he has participated in several meme coin discussions in the past, but often encountered anonymous accounts using liquidity structures to position early and later "sell off" in the opposite direction, making him a tool for attention. He emphasized that this current project is the first time he has participated while "controlling the majority of the token supply" and said he will try to find a balance between attracting market attention and industry building.
