India's rainfall in July may be below normal, posing risks to crop prospects

Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, Director of the India Meteorological Department, stated that due to the Pacific El Niño weather phenomenon, rainfall in July is expected to be 94% of the long-term average of approximately 28 centimeters. This month, India’s rainfall is nearly 40% below normal levels, making it the driest June since 2014.
