South Korea drafts a 392 trillion won investment plan as giants like Samsung and SK Hynix make major investments in the central region

Golden Ten Data reported on July 2 that the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on July 2 it will inject 392 trillion won in industrial investment into the Chungcheong central region. Of the total investment, Samsung’s subsidiaries will inject about 140 trillion won for the construction of HBM wafer fabs, advanced packaging, OLED production, and battery lines; SK Hynix plans to invest approximately 100 trillion won in building NAND and advanced packaging plants; biopharmaceutical company Celltrion intends to invest around 2 trillion won in biopharmaceutical facilities. In addition, roughly 150 trillion won will flow into AI data centers. The South Korean government has pledged to provide financing, tax incentives, and regulatory support to ensure the success of these projects.
