Institution: The Malaysian stock market may experience volatility in the near future

Golden Ten Data, July 2｜FSMOne research assistant manager Alwyn Chew Chuan Shyn stated that due to the upcoming state elections potentially dragging on market sentiment, the Malaysian stock market may be volatile in the near term. He prefers companies with high earnings visibility, such as construction firms related to renewable energy and data centers, consumer stocks that may benefit from government cash aid programs, as well as banks expected to achieve stable net interest margins. Chew expects Malaysia’s benchmark Kuala Lumpur Composite Index to close at 1,700 points by the end of the year.
