ChainCatcher reports that Ripple co-founder and Executive Chairman Chris Larsen was revealed to be involved in investing in the derivatives trading platform American Perpetuals Exchange Corp. (APEC), founded by Theodore Gillibrand, son of New York State Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. The platform has raised 30 million USD, with most investors contributing between 5,000 and 10,000 USD. Chris Larsen's investment amount is unknown. Previously, Kirsten Gillibrand had publicly stated that "members of Congress and government officials should not be allowed to profit from the industry due to their insider status," but her spokesperson responded that Gillibrand has "no involvement whatsoever" in her son's business.
