Iran plans to charge service fees for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international standards
BlockBeats news, on July 5, Abdulreza Rahmani Fazli, Iran’s ambassador to China, said during an interview with the media at the 14th World Peace Forum held in Beijing on July 4 that Iran plans to charge a service fee for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz according to international standards.
Fazli stated that before the outbreak of the US-Israel-Iran war, navigation through the Strait of Hormuz was always unimpeded. Currently, Iran has not announced any intention to charge (passage) fees or tariffs, but plans to collect service fees in accordance with international standards, to cover routine expenses such as ensuring navigation safety, navigation, and environmental protection. This practice is consistent with other waterways around the world.
Regarding the current situation of the Strait of Hormuz, Fazli said that navigation through the strait is gradually returning to normal, and the channel jointly managed by Iran and Oman is being re-ordered.
