Korean telecom KT plans to invest 18 trillion KRW to advance Token Factory and stablecoin businesses.
ChainCatcher reports that,according to Digital Daily, South Korean telecom operator KT announced that it will invest approximately 18 trillion won over the next three years. Of this, 12 trillion won will be allocated to information security, IT, and networks, and 6 trillion won to AI infrastructure; additionally, KT will promote new businesses including Token Factory and stablecoin initiatives.
KT plans to leverage a 1GW-scale AI data center, token optimization engine, and billing and settlement capabilities to build the Token Factory, which will support token generation, mediation, and billing. The company also intends to enter the digital financial platform market for stablecoins, integrating the 16 million customers of K Bank, 3.5 million merchants of BC Card, and KT’s network and security infrastructure, thus covering the issuance, custody, settlement, and real-world usage ecosystem.
