The inflation rate cooled to 3.4% in July, the Labor Department said Wednesday, in line with the 3.4% forecast by analysts polled by The Wall Street Journal. "Inflation Was 3.4% in July, Down Slightly From the Previous Month -- WSJ" at 8:34 a.m. ET misstated the forecast as 3.5%.
