Data shows that Solana has recorded the largest increase in tokenized credit fund markets this year, with a newly added market cap of $468.2 million, bringing the total size to $664.3 million. This growth rate surpasses the combined growth of other tracked public blockchains, indicating that traditional financial institutions are continuing to deploy more funds and real-world asset products on public blockchains.

Total RWA value rises to $3.9 billion

According to data from RWA.xyz, the total value of Solana’s overall RWA ecosystem has now reached $3.9 billion, a new all-time high. There are currently 339,421 RWA holders on the network, close to 340 thousand; and the number of on-chain real-world assets has reached 2,676.

This expansion has been mainly driven by tokenized funds and liquidity products. With more regulated products coming on-chain, Solana’s share in the institutional-grade RWA market continues to increase.

Multiple asset management institutions launched products this year

In January this year, WisdomTree, with $171 billion assets under management, expanded its tokenized fund products to Solana, opening access to both institutional and retail users. Users can subscribe, trade, and hold related funds on-chain via WisdomTree Connect and WisdomTree Prime.

In April, OCBC Bank, Lion Global Investors, and DigiFT launched Southeast Asia’s first tokenized physical gold fund $GOLDX on Solana, backed by a $525.9 million gold fund. Afterwards, State Street and Galaxy Asset Management launched the SWEEP fund on Solana, providing 24/7 liquidity and yield for stablecoin holders.

European asset managers and sovereign capital join the space

European asset management institutions are also accelerating their presence. Amundi, managing €2.4 trillion, partnered with Spiko to introduce the SAFO fund on Solana in a UCITS structure. Allfunds, with over €1.8 trillion in assets under management, expanded tokenized fund offerings to Solana through Project Harmonia in June, increasing the number of institutional-grade products available on-chain.

Last month, Mubadala Capital, with $38.5 billion in assets under management, deployed the MCAS fund on Solana, Sui, and Base, and has already secured over $75 million in committed capital. This marks its first entry into the on-chain market, following a path similar to BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and Fidelity.

Franklin Templeton receives SEC no-action letter

On August 12, the SEC’s Division of Investment Management issued a no-action letter to Franklin Templeton, allowing traditional registered funds to invest in the company’s on-chain US Government Money Fund. This fund, BENJI, was first launched on Stellar in 2021 and has since expanded to multiple blockchains, including Solana.

BENJI mainly invests in US government securities and aims to maintain a stable net asset value of $1 per share. The latest regulatory progress also provides a clearer operating space for tokenized funds to continue entering mainstream asset management systems.

Humana shares soar as it becomes the biggest beneficiary of the 2027 Medicare star ratings.

Reuters, October 9 – In pre-market trading on Friday, shares of Humana (stock code: HUM.N) rose by 15%. Analysts said the health insurer is set to be the biggest beneficiary of the new 2027 Medicare Advantage star ratings. Humana stated that, with improvements in healthcare quality and member experience indicators, 95% of its Medicare Advantage members will be enrolled in plans rated four stars or higher by 2027, a substantial jump from 20% in 2026 (link). JPMorgan analysts noted that they had previously projected this ratio to be between 60% and 70%. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services uses a one- to five-star scale to rate Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plans. Higher ratings lead to government bonuses worth billions of dollars and can help attract more members. Analysts noted that Humana’s ratings performance outpaced its larger competitors: JPMorgan expects the proportion of UnitedHealth Group’s (UNH.N) plans rated four stars or higher to decrease from 81% to about 67%, while CVS Health’s (CVS.N) ratio will fall from 84% to about 70%. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said Thursday night that, overall, about 71% (link) of Medicare Advantage prescription drug plan enrollees will be in contracts rated four stars or higher in 2027. Evercore ISI analyst Elizabeth Anderson said that Humana had improved in prescription drug plan quality, health plan quality, and readmission rates. She added, “This improvement reflects management’s increased focus on these metrics over the past year.” Health insurers provide Medicare Advantage plans for the government to adults aged 65 and older and people with disabilities.

Chart - U.S. stock funds see weekly net outflows for the first time in three weeks

Reuters, October 9 – After two consecutive weeks of net inflows, U.S. equity funds saw net outflows for the week ending October 7, as investors took profits during a market rally while concerns persisted over rising Treasury yields and sustained high oil prices. LSEG Lipper data shows investors withdrew a net $5.11 billion from U.S. equity funds during the week, marking the first weekly net outflow since September 16. The S&P 500 index (.SPX) hit a record high of 7,844.52 points earlier in the week before retreating. Mounting inflation concerns fueled a sharp selloff in the bond market, driving the yield on the 10-year Treasury to 5.3645%, its highest level since April 2002, dampening market sentiment. Large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap U.S. equity funds recorded net redemptions of $14.08 billion, $1.03 billion, and $834 million, respectively. However, investors made net purchases of $5.68 billion in sector funds, led by technology, which attracted $4.53 billion. The utilities and industrials sectors absorbed $1.18 billion and $1.04 billion, respectively. U.S. bond funds posted net inflows of $19.78 billion for the week, a historic high. Investors poured $6.76 billion into short- to intermediate-term government and Treasury funds, the highest in six months. Short- to intermediate-term investment-grade funds and general domestic taxable fixed income funds saw net inflows of $5.04 billion and $2.52 billion, respectively. Meanwhile, money market funds attracted $68.49 billion, reversing the previous week’s $43.6 billion in outflows.
