Eurozone current account surplus widens to 46.9 billion euros in June, exceeding expectations

⑴ The Eurozone's current account surplus in June expanded from 37.6 billion euros a year earlier to 46.9 billion euros. The surplus on primary income rose from 5 billion euros to 15.3 billion euros, and the surplus on services increased from 22.6 billion euros to 24.1 billion euros. ⑵ The surplus on goods narrowed from 23.6 billion euros to 21.5 billion euros, while the deficit on secondary income widened from 13.7 billion euros to 14.1 billion euros. After seasonal adjustment, the current account surplus in June rose from 25.8 billion euros in May to 35.1 billion euros, surpassing the market expectation of 22.1 billion euros.
