Internet Entrepreneur Drops $5 XRP Price Statement. Here’s the Focus
XRP’s recent price trend has tested investors’ patience, but crypto investor and creator Mason Versluis believes the current weakness does not determine where the asset can trade in the future.
In a post on X, Versluis said, “$5 $XRP is not a pipe dream,” while explaining why he remains confident in XRP despite its recent decline.
His comments focus on the speed of cryptocurrency market movements, investor patience, and XRP holders generating yield later.
Versluis Points to Crypto’s Rapid Price Swings
In the video attached to his post, Versluis said the same speed that allowed XRP to fall could also allow it to recover..
Versluis noted that cryptocurrency markets can move sharply in both directions. According to him, prices can decline to a point where investors lose confidence, sell their holdings, and stop paying attention to the asset before a rapid recovery.
He said investors who remain patient through those periods could benefit if XRP eventually reverses its decline.
XRP Price Remains a Concern for Versluis
Despite his bullish outlook, Versluis acknowledged XRP’s current performance. He described the price as disappointing, but said it could change in the future.
“Yes, XRP’s price absolutely sucks, but one day it’s not going to suck, and that’s when I’m going to sell,” he said.
His comments suggest that he remains focused on a longer-term outcome rather than XRP’s short-term movements. The $5 target represents a substantial increase from lower price levels, but Versluis presented the target as achievable rather than unrealistic.
Another factor behind his approach is XRP’s earning yield. Versluis said he does not necessarily want to sell his holdings if XRP can eventually provide passive income opportunities.
Community Members Weigh In on the $5 Target
The post also received responses from other members of the XRP community.
His reference to what is “coming” could relate to regulatory developments surrounding the Digital Asset Market Structure Clarity Act, which has advanced through Congress and remains a significant issue for the broader cryptocurrency market.
Sidney M Brewer took an even more bullish position, writing, “$5 XRP isn’t the Dream… the Dream is way too bigger than that.”
Versluis’ comments ultimately center on patience, XRP’s ability to recover quickly after major declines, and the potential for future income opportunities. For him, a $5 XRP price is not unrealistic, but part of a longer-term outlook that extends beyond the asset’s current performance.
