As global computing power demand continues to rise, the cryptocurrency mining industry and AI data centers are accelerating towards integration. On one hand, mining companies are leveraging their extensive experience in power acquisition, site construction, and hardware operations and maintenance to explore the potential transformation into AI computing infrastructure. On the other hand, the needs of AI data centers in terms of electricity, site selection, and long-term business models overlap significantly with the challenges long faced by the mining industry. As demand for computing power reshapes the fundamental logic of both industries, how to understand each other's operations and find truly feasible collaboration opportunities has become a widely discussed topic in the industry.
To address this, EMCD, together with DMA, will host the "Power Salon: A Dialogue on Mining & AI Data Centers" event in Hong Kong on August 28 as an official Side Event of BTC Asia Hong Kong. The event will bring together miners, mining farm owners, data center builders and operators, energy providers, mining and data center supply chain service companies, as well as investment institutions and financial enterprises, for a pragmatic and in-depth discussion focused on the intersection of mining and AI infrastructure.
