KBR Wins PureSAF Contract for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production Plant in Kazakhstan

06:28 AM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- KBR (KBR) won a contract to license its PureSAF technology and provide engineering design for a sustainable aviation fuel production plant in Kazakhstan, the company said Monday. Financial details of the contract, awarded by KazMunayGas-Aero and KazFoodProducts, weren't provided. The facility will use an alcohol-to-jet process to produce aviation fuel from alcohol-based feedstocks, including domestically produced agricultural materials, KBR said. The project supports Kazakhstan's goal of becoming an international aviation hub while helping reduce aviation-related greenhouse-gas emissions, the company added.
