Grand Canyon Education Places CFO on Paid Administrative Leave

04:37 PM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Grand Canyon Education (LOPE) placed Chief Financial Officer Daniel Bachus on paid administrative leave effective Aug. 21 in connection with an ongoing governmental investigation involving a non-employee third party's trades in company stock, the company said Monday. The company said Bachus' leave was not related to any issues with its financial statements or accounting policies or practices, and that Grand Canyon Education is not a focus of the investigation. The company has engaged outside counsel, is conducting its own investigation, and is cooperating with the government. Grand Canyon Education appointed Lori Browning, its senior vice president and controller-chief accounting officer, as interim CFO and interim principal financial officer, effective Aug. 21.
