Lakefront Gets FDA Orphan Drug Label for Gamgertamig

04:53 PM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lakefront Biotherapeutics (LKFT) said late Monday the US Food and Drug Administration has granted Orphan Drug Designation to gamgertamig for the treatment of pemphigus, a rare disease that causes blistering of the skin. The drug candidate is being developed in collaboration with Gilead Sciences (GILD), the company said. Lakefront also said trials in autoimmune diseases are enrolling, and expansion of the trials program is expected in 2027. Separately, the firm said Bank of America (BAC) had crossed the 10% voting rights threshold of Lakefront following the acquisition of voting rights and equivalent financial instruments.
