Bausch + Lomb Plans to Advance Dual-Action Eye Drop Targeting Evaporative and Inflammatory Dry Eye Disease to Phase 3

05:38 PM EDT, 08/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bausch + Lomb (BLCO) said late Monday it plans to advance two of its pharmaceutical pipeline assets to new trials based on latest clinical results. The company said it will advance the dry eye disease dual-action eye drop into phase 3 development with a primary endpoint at day 15, and plans to share the details of the late-stage program in the coming months. Meanwhile, phase 2 study did not meet its primary endpoint of superiority over lifitegrast alone in reducing total corneal fluorescein staining from baseline at day 29, although results numerically favored the dual-action eye drop, according to a statement. Also, the company said it is currently evaluating BL1332 in an ongoing phase 2 study in patients with pain after photorefractive keratectomy surgery, with topline results expected in the coming months. The company said it believes BL1332's mechanism may have potential relevance across several ocular surface pain conditions. Looking ahead, the company said it remains on track to achieve the three-year targets outlined at its investor day.
