Ireland's average weekly earnings in the second quarter increased by 3.9% year-on-year

(1) Preliminary statistics show that in Q2 2026, the average weekly wage in Ireland grew by 3.9% year-on-year, reaching €1,046.88. The growth rate for Q1 was revised to 3.4%. (2) Out of 13 economic sectors, 12 achieved wage increases in Q2. The accommodation and food services sector saw the highest rise at 7.7%, followed closely by administrative and support services with a 5.6% increase. (3) The average hourly wage also recorded a considerable year-on-year growth, rising by 3.8% to €31.96; all 13 sectors experienced hourly wage increases. (4) During the same period, the average paid working hours per week rose slightly by 0.3%, increasing from 32.7 hours in Q2 2025 to 32.8 hours.
