Sagimet Biosciences Says US Late-Stage Trial of Denifanstat to Treat Acne on Track for Q4 Enrollment

07:33 AM EDT, 08/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sagimet Biosciences (SGMT) said Tuesday that it expects to begin enrolling patients in Q4 for the US late-stage trial of denifanstat to treat moderate to severe acne. The company said that patient screening is expected to begin in October and that all trial sites have been identified and a contract research organization has been hired. The trial is planned to enroll about 800 patients, including 450 adolescents, over the course of about six months. Sagimet said patients will receive either denifanstat or placebo for 12 weeks, followed by a 40-week extension.
