Home Price Growth May Lose Momentum -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/25 14:081008 ET - Although home prices rose 0.2% month-over-month, Capital Economics says that is likely to lose momentum heading into the third quarter. Case-Shiller is a backward-looking indicator, and once it catches up with mortgage rates rising towards 7% over the summer, they expect home prices to be flat for the year as a whole. Tuesday's Case-Shiller index showed that home price growth rose 1.5% in the 12 months through June, compared with a 1.2% increase in May. (jessica.coacci@wsj.com)
