Novartis (NVS.US) receives approval for a new indication for its flagship radiotherapy drug in China

智通财经APP reported that on August 25, Novartis (NVS.US) announced that Lutetium [177Lu] vipivotide tetraxetan (Chinese brand name: Pluvicto) has been approved in China for a new indication. It can now be used in combination with androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPI) to treat patients with prostate-specific membrane antigen-positive (PSMA+) metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). This is the third approved indication for the drug in China, and it can now be used for all stages of PSMA+ metastatic prostate cancer—ranging from mHSPC to metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), covering multiple key treatment phases before and after chemotherapy. In addition, Novartis has recently submitted an application for local manufacturing of the drug in China.
