WiseTech Has No Target for Completion of Job Cuts -- Interview

SYDNEY--WiseTech Global isn't ready to set a date for when it expects to complete the remaining 40% of its targeted job cuts, its chief executive said.

The Australia-listed logistics-software provider, which services more than 20,000 companies across 193 countries, said Wednesday it had cut approximately 1,200 of 2,000 roles it previously targeted for redundancy.

The cuts, which were initially announced in February as part of an AI-powered productivity drive, included halving the size of teams focused on customer service, and product and development.

Those initial cuts are largely complete, Chief Executive Zubin Appoo said Wednesday. WiseTech needs to fully separate component parts of its recently acquired e2open business in order to cut the remaining roles, Appoo said in an interview.

"We're actively discussing that with the team and with the business about how we might do that, but we don't have a timeline," Appoo said.

"We have done a lot in the last 11 to 12 months really to detangle that, but there's more to be done."

WiseTech wants to keep the product development business it acquired with the $2.1 billion purchase of supply-chain tech company e2open in August 2025.

However, it is looking at how it might transition e2open's professional-services teams to companies within its network of consultant, service provider and implementation partners.

"E2 has traditionally been a very sales-led and services-led business, so it's not as simple as simply cutting the business in half, or whatever ratio it is," Appoo said.

"The services part of the business is deeply intertwined into how product and development occurs inside."

WiseTech said it expected e2open revenue to be flat in fiscal 2027, but for professional-services revenue to reduce as services transition to partners.

Four Mac Studio systems run trillion-parameter models, Apple challenges Nvidia's narrative on inference

Apple's hardware chief pointed out that after enterprises purchase devices outright, there is no need to pay by token, and the cost-effectiveness of local computing power might be superior to long-term rental of cloud GPUs. Goldman Sachs believes that if more inference tasks shift to end devices, Nvidia's share in incremental AI activity may fall short of market expectations. Currently, Nvidia's implied volatility is at its lowest since before the pandemic, and option pricing has almost no risk premium allocated for this narrative change. Therefore, Goldman Sachs recommends buying Nvidia put options and going long on Apple.

Canadian Prime Minister: US-Canada trade agreement is still possible, but Ottawa will not give up its right to deepen cooperation with the EU

Canadian Prime Minister Carney stated that while it remains possible to reach a trade agreement with the United States, Canada will not trade its sovereignty for any deal, particularly insisting on its right to independently sign trade agreements. Meanwhile, Carney is actively promoting deeper cooperation between Canada and the European Union, covering critical minerals, energy, scientific research, and student exchanges, aiming to reduce dependence on the US and defend national sovereignty. He emphasized that in an era when connectivity can be weaponized, diversified cooperation is a necessary choice for safeguarding sovereignty.
