National Bank of Canada Q3 Adjusted Earnings Rise, Beat FactSet Estimates

06:48 AM EDT, 08/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- National Bank of Canada (NA.TO) reported Q3 adjusted diluted earnings of C$3.39 per share, up from C$2.68 a year earlier and above the C$3.21 consensus estimate compiled by FactSet. Adjusted net income rose 23% year over year to C$1.36 billion. Adjusted revenue for the three months ended July 31 increased to C$4.05 billion from C$3.45 billion. The consensus on FactSet was for C$3.87 billion. The bank also declared a dividend of C$1.32 per common share, payable on Nov. 1 to shareholders of record on Sept. 28. "Despite trade and geopolitical uncertainty, Canada's resilience and the retooling of its economy are creating opportunities for growth," said CEO Laurent Ferreira. "We remain focused on supporting our clients and advancing the country's economic priorities to create long-term value for all our stakeholders."

The yen broke below the 156 mark overnight as the Federal Reserve’s hawkish rate hikes pushed the Bank of Japan to a “high-pressure moment.”

After the Federal Reserve raised interest rates, the Japanese yen fell overnight to 156.42. The market is betting that the Bank of Japan will raise rates by 25 basis points on Friday. If the stance is dovish, the yen could fall further to 158 or even 160.
