Dollar General Fiscal Q2 Earnings, Sales Rise; Shares Up Pre-Bell

07:08 AM EDT, 08/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Dollar General (DG) reported fiscal Q2 earnings Thursday of $2.48 per diluted share, up from $1.86 a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $2. Net sales for the quarter ended July 31 were $11.29 billion, compared with $10.73 billion a year earlier. Analysts expected $11.2 billion. For fiscal 2026, the company now expects EPS of $7.80 to $8, compared with its previous guidance range of $7.20 to $7.45. Analysts are looking for $7.39. Dollar General now projects full-year net sales to grow between 4% and 4.3%, compared with its previous forecast range of 3.7% to 4.2% growth. The company's shares were up 9.1% in premarket activity.
