Marvell's FY29 In Focus After Lukewarm 2Q Showing -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/28 16:401240 ET - Focus is turning to Marvell Technology's fiscal 2029 after the company's second-quarter print disappointed investors, Benchmark analyst Cody Acree writes in a note. Much of the commentary and guidance investors were seeking in the Thursday print will come at an investor day early in October, executives said, especially the details of Marvell's expanded Google partnership and the framework for its custom chip business. "The market now needs a detailed FY29 bridge," Acree writes. "A credible range of FY29 outcomes could move the valuation debate away from quarterly beat magnitude and toward the duration of Marvell's earnings cycle." Shares sink 10%.(elias.schisgall@wsj.com)
