Pundit: There Are Two Ways XRP Reaches $50,000–$100,000
A theory circulating among XRP holders reframes the entire debate around six-figure price targets. Crypto Pundit BarriC explains that XRP reaching $50,000–$100,000 depends on which of two mechanisms drives it there, and only one involves ordinary buying and selling.
The first path works the way most people assume prices rise. Retail and institutional demand push XRP upward through open-market price discovery, moving from $10 to $100 to $1,000 and beyond.
BarriC calls this “possible in theory,” but he says it would require extraordinary demand, vanishing available supply, and enough liquidity to support every price level along the way. That’s a high bar, and he treats it as the less likely outcome.
The Systemic Repricing Route
The second path removes buyers from the equation entirely. BarriC states XRP would be “systemically repriced for a specific financial role,” not because traders decide it’s worth more, but because global settlement infrastructure would need each unit to carry significantly more value.
He breaks this down by price tier. At $1–$10, XRP functions primarily as a speculative asset. At $100–$1,000, institutional use becomes more efficient. At $10,000, each unit can move substantially more value. At $50,000–$100,000, XRP would carry the value density needed to serve as a high-value settlement and collateral asset under this framework.
BarriC draws a clear distinction between the two outcomes. He says that price “wouldn’t represent retail excitement” but instead “systemic necessity.”
Reframing the Central Question
BarriC suggests the common question people ask, “how could buyers ever push XRP to $100,000?”, assumes the wrong mechanism. If systemic repricing drives the outcome, buyers don’t gradually bid the price up. Instead, the financial system determines the value XRP needs to fulfill its role first, and pricing follows from that determination.
He carefully qualifies the theory. BarriC states this “remains a theory, not a confirmed mechanism or guaranteed outcome.” He doesn’t claim certainty about which path, if either, will materialize.
A Different Kind of Price Target
BarriC’s closing point separates his theory from typical retail speculation. He argues that if XRP ever reaches $50,000–$100,000, it won’t happen because retail investors win a bidding war. It will happen because XRP’s assigned role requires a valuation at that level to function.
The theory has gained traction among XRP holders who point to Ripple’s institutional infrastructure push as a potential foundation for the second scenario.
Whether regulators, financial institutions, or settlement networks would ever assign XRP such a role remains unresolved. BarriC’s framework doesn’t predict an outcome. It separates two distinct paths and asks which one, if either, actually applies to XRP’s long-term trajectory.

VIPTradFi Focus: Where Does the RWA Market Stand Today?
1. Crypto outperformed traditional equity indexes following the rate hike, but elevated interest rates remain a key constraint on cross-asset allocation. From September 12 to 18, BTC, ETH, and SOL gained 4.83%, 3.84%, and 9.96%, respectively, while the S&P 500 edged down 0.08%. The U.S. Dollar Index rose 1.11%, and the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield closed at approximately 4.998%. Improving risk appetite is therefore coexisting with elevated discount rates, raising the bar for RWA allocation: investors need to compare not only returns on the underlying assets, but also on-chain liquidity and collateral efficiency. 2. Growth in tokenized equities is occurring even as the overall RWA market remains under pressure. As of September 18, Distributed Asset Value across RWAs stood at $38.503 billion, down 1.13% week over week, while tokenized equities reached $3.056 billion, up 6.03%. This week's data are better explained by capital reallocating across different RWA segments than by a broad-based expansion of the entire RWA market. 3. For exchanges, the opportunity lies in connecting spot holdings, collateral, and derivatives. Reality's distributed asset value stands at approximately $155 million, while eligible rTokens can already be used within Bitget's UTA margin framework. Across CoinGlass's verifiable sample of 177 TradFi instruments, open interest reached approximately $11.498 billion, up 2.06% week over week, even as weekly trading volume declined 7.60%. The medium-term opportunity remains intact, but deeper utilization will depend on liquidity, collateral use, and sustained trading activity. 4.Assets to watch: BTC, ETH, SOL, NEAR, ZEC, gold, tokenized U.S. equities, COST. 5.Key metrics to watch: rToken collateral utilization, the durability of TradFi open interest and trading volume, and next week's employment and consumer data.
