Delek Reports Malfunction Involving Crude-Oil Unit at Big Spring, Texas, Refinery -- OPIS

Delek reported an equipment malfunction involving a crude-oil unit at its 74,000 b/d Big Spring, Texas, refinery.

In a filing Monday with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the company said the event began at 6:42 a.m. CDT Sunday and continued for 12 hours. The malfunction led to flaring and rates were reduced to minimize emissions, the TCEQ filing said.

Company officials said earlier this month that turnaround work had been completed at the refinery during the second quarter. The company has no planned maintenance scheduled for the rest of the year, the officials said.
